Opening on October 13, The Foreigner starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan will show us a whole new side of Jackie Chan and his acting capabilities. You’d think that Jackie would be out of his comfort zone with this movie, it’s not just your generic kick assery mixed with comedy for good measure.
It feels as thou he’s very comfatable with this character and is still able to roam free with his wide array of moves. Jackie plays the character Quan in the movie. A man hellbent on revenge after his daughter is killed in a terrorist attack. Pierce Brosnan plays a British government agent who may or may not know the identity of the bombers and their motivations.
The trailer (shown below) is full of equla parts emotion and action as Quan hunts out his revenge and seems to possess more skills than the average joe. Way more infact as it seems Quan goes out of his way to specficially target Pierce Brosnan’s character as he tries to seek the answers he is looking for by any means neccesary.
Jackie Chan has still got it! Lots of ass kicking scenes and stunts are performed in the trailer alone levermind the full feature! I’m pretty sure when i’m the same age as Jackie Chan (63) anytime I lift my leg for a kick I’m pretty sure i’d pull a ligament and be out on the sidelines for the rest of the season. Whatever that guy eats or is taking, I could use some of it now at age 25, let alone 63!
Action packed, explosive and with a hint of 007 about it. Until I found out that the director behind The Foreigner is Goldeneye and Casino Royale director Martin Campbell.
The Foreigner is actually based on the novel ‘The Chinaman’ and the trailer below is well worth a watch.
I’m a huge fan of Jackie Chan, I’ve never been bored of any film he’s been in. Even The Karate Kid remake, if you can believe that!
