Jaws 2, 3 and 4 All Set to Get the Steelbook Treatment

Jaws Steelbook

Jaws 2, Jaws 3 and Jaws 4 are all set to get the steelbook treatment courtesy of Zavvi.

Fan of Jaws?

Everyone remembers Jaws, but what about their sequels?

A few of them were terrible but entertaining in almost every other aspect. What’s great about these steelbooks is that they present some really fine artwork.

If you are a fan of the Jaws franchise, then these are a must. They are set to be released on the 16th August 2021 for a price of £17.99 each, on the website Zavvi only.

Zavvi are known to produce some of the best steelbooks around, featuring timeless and original artwork from films new and old. It’s about time that Jaws and the most feared shark around had its chance to shine.

You can pre-order Jaws 2 steelbook here

You can pre-order Jaws 3 here.

Ironically, The artwork is better than the quality of the films. The artwork is genuinely quite terrifying. Check out the images below. The fin and shape of the shark looks pretty real.

Jaws 2

Jaws 2 Steelbook

My favourite section is the back piece, where we see the shape of the shark and its fin.

From director, Jeannot Szwarc. Jaws 2 is definitely the best sequel in the franchise with our main character Chief Brody, played by Roy Scheider returning with his wife played by Loraine Grey.

The sequel has its flaws but still provides solid entertainment, with a few brutal kills.  If you loved the first film, then I think you will enjoy the sequel. If you haven’t seen it already, I recommend it.

What’s great about this steelbook is that we get an addition of several features. These include; John Williams: The Music of Jaws 2, deleted scenes, the making of jaws 2, storyboards, theatrical trailers and a special commentary by actor Keith Gordon, who plays Doug in the film.

We get to go see behind the scenes, which are actually quite humorous. It turns out the cast had some funny stories to tell behind the camera. One of the deleted scenes contains an extended look at a death scene. I won’t spoil it.

The documentary behind Jaws 2 is fascinating. It tells us a bit about the Hollywood production system back in the late 70’s and the problems the film endured during the production process, with interviews from Steven Spielberg.

Jaws 3D

Jaws 3 Steenbok

The infamous Jaws 3 returns again!

The cast is pretty forgettable other than the addition of Dennis Quaid. With that said,  This is not just Jaws 3, it’s Jaws 3D!

It has been reported that the steelbook will contain the 3D version of the film, making it the ultimate 3D experience for fans of the film.

The 3D conversion a couple of decades ago was pretty awful. In 2021, will Jaws 3 get a prominent cult following with a better 3D conversion?

I recommend watching this review of the film. It gives you a review of not only the film but also the 3D.

Despite Jaws 3 being awful, I really do believe that there is an audience for the 3rd installment.

It’s a mish mash of fun B movie thrills, that works for plain laughter. You have to see the film for yourself to believe the stupidity.

Although, the 3rd film does contain the most brutal death in the whole franchise. A man gets swallowed by the shark, yikes.

Jaws: The Revenge

Jaws Revenge Steenbok

Probably one of the worst sequels ever made, but it is still entertaining. This steelbook will also feature an alternative ending, I’m sure it’s priceless.

Like Jaws 3, this film is pure laughter from start to finish with Michael Caine making a surprising appearance.

August can’t come sooner.
