Jurassic World: Dominion Already Tweaked To Fit Pandemic Era

To continue installing fear into each and every one of us even Hollywood films are getting in on the action of fuelling the fire as Jurassic World: Dominion has undergone changes to better fit the world we currently live in surrounding the pandemic.

Jurassic World Dominion Tweaked

Whilst the entire film hasn’t be revamped to revolve around the pandemic the feature has been tweaked to fit the current landscape that we all live in.

A landscape that poses an ever-present threat and a landscape that will require us to trust in science to save the day.

Jeff Goldblum spoke with Entertainment Weekly about Jurassic Park past and present highlighting the very real message that Dominion is trying to portray to reflect the current world we live in.

There are things that my character talks about, has always talked a little bit about, the fragility of our species and the global cooperation that’s needed and the foundation and science that is needed.

Oh, and the ethical use of science that’s needed to unite us in trust and connectedness as a family.

To reach our potential and do right by ourselves and this glorious planet — all of that. So all of those things are now as you can imagine more relevant than ever.

In many aspects of this [Dominion] plot, there are other things we’re kind of finding that are kind of apropos, but there are some sensitive things they are tweaking and adjusting to make it right for now, and contributive and nourishing for right now.

I can see where Jeff is going with this but at the same time do we really need our modern times to be reflected in the media we consume?

It’s bad enough we have to see it on the news, social media, and every other place we care to divert our attention but to invade the one place in feature film we escapism is paramount.

I really don’t like that at all.

If I wanted to watch a virus movie I’d throw on Resident Evil, 28 Days Later and for a more true-to-life movie, I’d throw on Pandemic for good measure.

But to purposely tilt a movie for a social commentary that no one needs to be consistently reminded of, I’m not much for that direction at all.

My lack of enthusiasm for the direction of any Jurassic World movie in fact as up until this point they have been an absolute shambles.

A twisted mess of convoluted rubbish that bends over and uses the original classics as toilet roll in its chamber of exploitation and condescending nonsense.

Let’s hope Dominion provides some sort of salvation for this rebooted franchise without constantly reminding us that the world outside is nothing short of awful right now.

Jeff Goldblum is always a man to give me hope in any situation and he definitely seems to love the story that has been created for Dominion.

I trust you Jeff.

In other news, Jurassic Park: Dominion has already won an award ahead of its release and that’s the Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB) Innovation Awards.

The movie won for its work behind the scenes in creating safer working conditions and working with British workers in these strange and unusual times.
