In Episode 6 titled ‘Kingdom of Kevin’ we’re caught in a storm of controversy. Kevin learns a hard lesson in humility and considers the best course of action. Later, hindsight shifts his stance.
Kevin Hart: Don’t F**k This Up Episode 6 Review

After old tweets were dug up of Kevin’s just as he was announced to be hosting the Oscars. Controversy ensued. For me people get way too sensitive about things nowadays. Yes it was worded somewhat questionably but it was certainly blown out of proportion.
Like firstly, the tweets were years ago, another time, another Kevin but secondly it showed just how fickle people are. You only need to look at Dave Chapelle’s incredibly hilarious Netflix comedy special to know what a fickle culture we have.
Dave’s standup show contained some of the most controversial sh*t i’ve ever seen in recent times and hardly anyone batted an eyelid. It was brutal truth where Dave gave zero fucks about voicing his opinions to hilarious effect. Double standards aplenty.

From stepping down as a host of the Oscars we are taken into an emergency Hartbeat Productions meeting where Kevin addresses staff in regards to the controversy.
Kevin addresses the oversensitivity of the public (which I agree with) and his admittance to not apologise once again.
He took a stand against those people who take offence at just about everything out there today. Standing up against the snowflakes is one thing but when Kevin’s actions affect other people, companies he works with etc that’s another matter entirely.
Kevin made somewhat of an apology on Ellen but it still didn’t go down too well with the public.

Gay friends Kevin told him that he should just tell the public you don’t condone any violence against the gay community. This conversation swayed his way of thinking and address that issue.
Overall

As the episode comes to a close on a brighter note we see Kevin buying all of his friends cars. “You can’t pay for loyalty” he says as his friends are overwhelmed with a heap of classic cars between them.
This scene almost foreshadows what is about to come next as we all know that Kevin Hart was involved in a crash and the car involved in the crash was a classic Plymouth Barracuda.
A line from this episode before the credits roll will linger with me for a while. Kevin says “When you are ok with being flawed you know you can be fixed.”
I’ll leave you with that one.
