Exploring Two Horror-Themed Las Vegas Escape Rooms

Go big or don’t bother is certainly the ethos that Sin City has and with two of the best Las Vegas escape rooms on offer that ethos continues. Complete changing the game of what an escape room is all about we dive into Escape Blair Witch and SAW Escape.

Themed around two Lionsgate properties these two horror-themed escape rooms are more than your average 60 minutes locked inside a room and solve puzzles to escape sort of game.

These two games are the closest you’re ever going to get to reliving famous scenes from your favourite horror movies. If you’re a Saw fan you go to comic cons in the hope of having your photo in a makeshift bathroom scene with an actor or if you’re a Blair Witch fan you clamber for forest themed horror experiences but look no further.

There’s really no need to look elsewhere when you can step foot inside movie sets and experience the horror of the film with your friends whilst solving a few puzzles along the way.

Escape Blair Witch Las Vegas

Detailing is second to none with the Saw prop production team having a hand in designing the SAW Escape room with some props taken directly from the films themselves lying inside. It’s truly breathtaking just watching walkthroughs (see video further down in the article) let alone experiencing it for yourself. From the bathroom scene to the furnace scene, infamous freezer scene and more not only are you walking through some of the most iconic sets in horror film history but you’re trapped in there and fully immersed in the world that has been created.

Wade through multiple traps from the SAW universe or come face to face with the witch (not literally, you obviously have to turn around or you’ll die) these two escape rooms have completely changed the game of what an escape room actually is.

Saw Billy the Puppet

Usually a much lower budget affair of cheap props and in 99% of cases (especially here in the UK) shoddy theming, these two escape rooms have taken detailing to new heights. It’s not just an escape room but a chance to relive some of your favourite horror movie moments. An area that despite needing to solve clues will captivate you and demand your attention, be admired, and be remembered.

It’s crazy to think that two of the world’s best-themed escape rooms (to my knowledge) are located in Las Vegas but I’d expect nothing less.

I am obsessed with theming, when it comes to scare mazes, rollercoasters or even escape rooms if it’s not well themed I immediately lose interest. I have to be drawn into a story to fully enjoy it and theming is key to that immersion taking place.

Let’s take a look at each one in a bit more detail, shall we?

SAW Escape

SAW Escape

Launched in 2018 SAW Escape is one of the largest escape rooms in the world spanning multiple rooms. Usually escape rooms consist of 1-3 rooms but SAW Escape takes things to the next level with 13 rooms! Fear not though as only 7 of them you have to physically escape from the others are more for show to connect the pieces of the jigsaw together.

The story begins with an after-hours tour of the historic Egan & Co. meatpacking plant but you soon discover you’re now trapped inside one of Jigsaw’s elaborate games.

Quite a hollow story as I’d expect nothing less to happen from an after-hours tour of a meatpacking factory. Who thought that sounded like a good night out?

Teams of up to 10 people can combine their skills with various levels of difficulty within the puzzles and lots of variety to suit all escape room skill levels from beginner to master.

Guest will have to work together (sometimes even crawl) through puzzles whilst Jigsaw himself (Tobin Bell recorded audio for the escape room specifically) luring you into his sick and twisted fun.

Tickets are priced at $49.99 but there are promo codes available all the time from the official website. You can team up with strangers or book a private experience via the site HERE

Escape Blair Witch

Las Vegas Escape Rooms

ESCAPE BLAIR WITCH is an immersive, multi-room escape experience that brings to life Lionsgate’s iconic blockbuster film franchise, Blair Witch. Players begin their journey at the Burkittsville Ranger’s Station, nestled in the Black Hills Forest, on a hunt for information into the disappearance of a few local college students. Do you believe in the stories about the Blair Witch? Was there an accident in the woods or did something far more sinister take place?

Created by Egan Escape Productions (the same company behind SAW Escape) this immersive experience really drags you into the atmosphere of the film.

Once again teaming up with Lionsgate this attraction opened in early summer 2021 and is the first official Blair Witch escape room experience.

Located in the same facility that houses SAW escape it’s crazy that the two best Las Vegas escape rooms are not only located together but are both horror themed!

I can’t think of any other genre of an escape room that has taken it to the levels of what you’re witnessing here (if you do however know of one please comment below).

A true team-building exercise as guests will be transported to the small village of Burkittsville, Maryland to investigate mysterious happenings and disappearances that have occurred within the community.

You must work together wading through this adventure of scenes from the classic film such as the Black Hills forest (yes, they’ve built a forest indoors) and dive headfirst into this dramatic and tense experience.

Pricing, group bookings (and VIP bookings) and more can be found on the Escape Blair Witch official website HERE

Vegas is an absolute treasure trove of horror and macabre, from Zak Bagans Haunted Museum to these two escape rooms, Vegas Fright Nights and more this is one city you absolutely must visit.
