Longton Family FunFair Is A Stanworths Spectacle

longton funfair

As you know we took a trip to Kidsgrove’s Party in the Park the other week.

Sadly, it a display so depressing I was so close to hanging up my party boots for good but I decided to give another event a chance.

Next up was the Family Fun Weekend at Langton Park.

It couldn’t be as bad as the Kidsgrove one, right?

Family Fun Weekend Longton Funfair

Longton FunFair 2019

The Fair is running from Thursday 18th July to Sunday 21st July.

I popped down on the Thursday when they’d just set up and already it was a massive improvement on the Kidsgrove fair.

There was a variety of rides for both young and adult riders whereas the Kidsgrove fair only had kids rides essentially.

The funfair hadn’t even kicked off yet and it already looked the part before the stilt walkers, dinosaur invasion and other attractions flooded in over the weekend.

Longton Funfair Rides

Longton Park

Every single time Stanworths advertise a show they never advertise what rides will be there.

I made quite a long trip to this particular fair in the hope of seeing a ghost train.

Once again, another funfair without a ghost train.

I’m guessing Stanworths just don’t have one anyone which is sad.

I was rather disappointed as I’m on bit of a Ghost Train binge at the moment!

The social media page keeps up to date with posts etc but the customer service side is non existent at times.

Countless messages and questions (not just from me) go unanswered on those pages every single day.

I’d be more than happy to help if you’re reading this Stanworths!

Freak Out Funfair ride

In addition to the classic Sizzler, we had some Waltzers, Dodgems and the incredible KMG Freak Out swing ride.

This ride terrifies me to look at.

With me being an avid horror fan I can’t ride a rollercoaster without Final Destination flashbacks.

Just like I can’t ride some fairground rides because of other movies I’ve watched.

Movies really have scarred me for life

Longton Park Funfair

Whilst the selection of rides in place was far better than the Kidsgrove show I still feel as thou more could be added. T

here was no funhouse, no house of mirrors, no funfair ring toss / candy floss stands.

It still didn’t feel all that much like a complete funfair.

Once again this could be down to budget but even a few vendor stalls from local business’s would have been cool to see.

Overall

FunFair

I do personally think with me coming down on Thursday that maybe all the rides / attractions haven’t arrived yet and as a result my review reflects that.

I can only review what I can see but when the weekend rolls around this place could be heaving with more things to see and do.

A step up for sure. Longton Family Funfair is a lovely little Stanworths spectacle.

Well worth a visit this weekend come rain or shine as the dodgems and waltzers are under cover if the weathers bad and the rest well, you’ll just have to wear a raincoat!

Please note if you are reading this article after 2019, the rides, location and experiences could differ. Please check out Stanworths official FB page for updated event listings.
