Adults rejoice as they can now enjoy the fun that all the children steal for themselves as McDonald’s adult happy meals are now a thing thanks to the brand new Minecraft meal to celebrate the upcoming Minecraft movie releasing on April 4th.
No longer will you need to stare in envy as a kid unboxes a brand new set of Pokemon Cards or some epic collectable that your inner nerd would love to own, now you can have your own!
There are 6 Minecraft Meal adult collectable toys to collect as a whole range of menu items and Mcdonald’s characters have been transformed into brick format but not only that each figure comes with a holo card where you can redeem a code to unlock an in-game skin for the Minecraft game, how cool is that?!

I had to see what the fuss was about so at 11 am this morning, the second McDonald’s switched to their adult menu I hopped on Just Eat and scooped up a Minecraft Meal which consisted of a Big Mac, Fries, Drink and a collectable.
I also scooped up a Nuggets meal so I could check out the brand new spicy Nether Sauce which is a separate meal which means only one thing, another toy!
One last item I grabbed was an Apple McFlurry which is brand new as part of this Minecraft promotion and I’ll get to that review just a little bit later.
In true Just Eat fashion all my food was delivered cold and considering my local McDonald’s is a 10-minute drive away I thought this was pretty shocking and after looking inside my bag there was no Nether Sauce to be found only a large gaping hole in my McDonalds paper bag.
A paper bag that should have contained my golden adult Happy Meal box but they didn’t pack it in the themed box and that was just another annoyance to my morning.
Just Eat did instantly refund me my missing sauces (a whopping 0.20p) but the money didn’t matter, I needed the sauce for a review along with a nice golden box and they didn’t deliver. Shame on them!
Minecraft McDonald’s Packaging

The branding for this particular promotion is spot on, from the Minecraft McDonalds logo to the Minecraft font which adorns every single item on the menu.
There’s now a Minecraft loading bar on the Big Mac boxes loading up ‘Special Sauce’ and a fiery menu bar on the nuggets for a Nether Suace hit (that I sadly missed out on), even the small details like the little Minecraft bubbles on the drinks, it’s simple but effective and the blocky design of all the boxes is so clever.
It’s a shame I didn’t get to see the golden box that would house all of these items but for reference, I’ve included a photo of it below:

Just ignore everything on the right-hand side that’s the Kids Happy Meals and like cmon… I’m 33 years old… who has the time for that?
*Looks on with envy… still*
McDonald’s Minecraft Collectables

Here is the full list of individual collectables you can scoop up as part of the Minecraft meal:
- Big Mac Crystal – Mined from the sea of special sauce, this precious block derives its radiant shine from melty cheese and a toasty sesame seed
- Birdie Wings – Keep your eye to the sky or you might miss the early bird soaring high above the clouds with a rare pair of elytra
- Fry Helmet – Forged from the iconic French Fry box, this enchanted helmet is rumored to protect you from friends stealing your last
- Grimace Egg – Emerging from the depths of a purple shake, this magical Grimace mob gets its shape from the most coveted egg of them
- Soda Potion – The electrifying effect of this potion is as mysterious as its recipe: an accidental combo of fantastic fizzy
- Zombie Hamburger – Little is known about this hungry mob who spawns late at night and wanders all biomes in search of hamburgers.
On this particular occasion, I was lucky and didn’t get two duplicates, I managed to get the Big Mac Crystal and the Soda Potion which funnily enough was one of the ones I wanted as the potion has such a funky design.
They come in little blocky branded boxes and come wrapped up in special Minecraft McDonald’s logo paper (a nice touch) along with the holo cards where you can type in a code and redeem characters within the actual game itself.
A nice touch!
Check out me unboxing my very own Minecraft meal in the video above!
Minecraft Apple McFlurry

Last but certainly not least we have the Minecraft Apple McFlurry as this apple, shortbread and sour apple sauce combo is quite a treat!
It has a lovely sweetness to it and I’m glad they didn’t put apple pieces in there and focused more on an embellished Apple flavour, it works and works ever so well!

You can get a small version of it or a full-sized version and with me not being able to sample the Nether sauce (yet) I’d say this was the best addition to the menu in terms of food options for the promo.
Check me out making the image all blocky and grainy… anyways… I digress.

The Minecraft McDonald’s promotion is great and for big kids (and young) alike they should go and grab themselves a meal and celebrate this rather unique promotion where an Adult ‘Happy Meal’ has arrived at UK shores for the first time ever.
It may be the first, but I hope it won’t be the last!
