Not Even Mechagodzilla Can Save Godzilla Vs Kong Being A Bad Movie

The rumours of Mechagodzilla were finally confirmed this week as he appeared in a Chinese release trailer for Godvilla Vs Kong but it’s going to take more than a robot to save this impending disaster.

Godzilla Vs Kong Poster

Legends collide in Godzilla vs. Kong as these mythic adversaries meet in a spectacular battle for the ages, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance.

Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home, and with them is Jia, a young orphaned girl with whom he has formed a unique and powerful bond.

But they unexpectedly find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla, cutting a swath of destruction across the globe.

The epic clash between the two titans—instigated by unseen forces—is only the beginning of the mystery that lies deep within the core of the Earth.

I’ve thought of every possible narrative, every possible outcome and I still draw the conclusion that this is going to be a bad movie.

Nothing strikes me, nothing grasps me, the trailer was underwhelming no matter what country you watch it in and it’s a real shame.

Kaiju fans will be happy to see Mechagodzilla on the big screen but it’s just fan service that won’t drive the story home for the masses.

It’s going to be a built for IMAX movie that’s streaming on HBO Max due to cinema restrictions.

It’s a big-budget blockbuster with explosions aplenty with an absolute shell of a story or driving force and I haven’t even seen a single frame of the film outside of the trailer to know that much already.

These movies almost predict themselves.

I really do hope I’m proven wrong but usually, these industry blockbusters follow the same copy and paste format and we lap it up every, single, time.

I’ll still be first in line to see it but it feels like a film I’ve seen all too many times before.

More importantly.

I’d link the trailer within the post but it’s absolutely going to get taken down at some point, I’m sure.
