Michael Jordan The Last Dance Review: Inspirational and Binge-Worthy

Michael Jordan The Last Dance

A Michael Jordan documentary not to be missed, here is our The Last Dance review.

The Last Dance review

With any sport, there is always a standout legend/s of the game.

With basketball, there is always one name that transcends the sport itself and that name is Michael Jordan.

I remember when I was a kid, my dad was away a lot with work but every trip to America he’d come home with Chicago Bulls merchandise.

I felt like the coolest kid in school rocking this Chicago Bulls coat that no one in my entire school owned.

Once the movie Space Jam dropped and I already had the Chicago Bulls coat my love of MJ (and that movie) skyrocketed.

Fast forward all these years later and his sneakers are in every major retailer, his name still echoed in basketball history.

Every established and upcoming player being constantly compared to him at every turn.

For me, they don’t make them like Michael Jordan anymore.

The Last Dance documentary on Netflix and produced by ESPN is named after the 1997-98 season as Chicago Bulls coach Phil Jackson prepared to win the NBA championship for the sixth time and what would be his last time coaching the team, the last dance.

Featuring exclusive access footage for a camera crew to take us inside the Bulls locker room for a season. This combined with multiple interviews gives us a deep insight into not only MJ himself but the entire team dynamic of arguably the greatest basketball team in history.

The documentary heavily rests weight on MJ’s shoulders as we track his progress and how he became the supporting pillar of this team on and off the court.

The series documents MJ’s rise to superstardom and legendary status and eventually even his own brand and future basketball team owner.

We see the highs and lows over a 10-episode series and you’re hooked from start to finish.

Summary

I’m not a big basketball fan myself but an inspirational story such as this breaks beyond the barriers of a single sport. It’s an inspiring story, a testament of character and a captivating look at one of the sport’s greatest heroes.
