In the six-episode season, Scooter rushes to make his delivery deadlines and upload the brand-new Muppet series for streaming.

They are due now, and he’ll need to navigate whatever obstacles, distractions, and complications the rest of the Muppet gang throws at him

There is certainly a marmite attitude towards The Muppets and Muppets Now will certainly throw you to one opinion or the other.

This 6-episode series flows in places, drags in the next and some segments are just all-out unbearable.

Split into random presenting segments we have such mini-shows as Lifestyle with Miss piggy as Miss Piggy does make-up tutorials and fashion with various guest stars.

There’s another mini-show called Muppet Masters where we uncover the hidden talents of various Muppets as they’re displayed with hilarious results.

In episode one for example Kermit shows us his photobombing skills and this segment is very funny, certainly up there in the same quality and hilarity as the next mini-show Okey Dokey Kookin.

Presented by Beverly Plume this cooking show pits a celebrity guest against the Swedish Chef and the episode featuring Danny Trejo teaching us how to make delicious tacos is certainly a favourite of mine.

Whilst the mini-shows do bring some variety to proceedings there are some mini-shows that are absolutely excruciating to watch. Some hit home and some drag you through the rubble hoping and praying the next mini-show is better than the previous.

Pepe’s Unbelievable Game Show is unbelievable indeed. Unbelievably bad.

As long as you have a fast forward button at your disposal you’ll certainly find some little gems in this overall pile of sub-par Muppet madness.

I’d also check out the Ru Paul interview as he delivers some rather inspirational words in what is otherwise quite an uninspired programme.

The show will be released July 31st on Disney Plus.

Summary

Whilst there are certainly good segments hidden within this 6-part series the majority of the show just doesn’t quite hit home.

I feel like a bit of a muppet just watching it. Sadly not the muppets we all knew and loved and whilst some segments ressurect the magic it’s certainly a magic and appeal that for me, is fading.
