After the outrage of Neve Campbell not being included in Scream 6 the tides could be turning amongst the mass exodus of cast and crew from the upcoming Scream 7 project.

Neve Campbell is one name that has been loyal to the Scream franchise and only after a pay dispute was she not included in Scream 6 and as a result we were left with a VERY poor instalment in my eyes that was painful to watch at times.
We discussed in a recent article that recent franchise stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega were leaving the Scream 7 project but for me, that’s a good thing and I explain why here.
In addition to the two stars above Hayden Panettiere returning as Kirby in Scream 6 was just a shoehorned attempt at fan service, we were all happy to see her until we saw her acting and every scene was about as wooden as you could ever want to see on the big screen.
If she didn’t return for Scream 7 this would not be bad news either.

The Scream 7 project is falling like a house of cards name by name as the most recent casualty was none other than director Christopher Landon quit the project after his two lead stars left.
Despite all of this chaos I still think that from a fan perspective and a franchise perspective the film can not only go ahead but be better than the dross we’ve been served up in the franchise recently.
Enter Neve Campbell.
The original stars of the Scream franchise are the only fan service we need and some returning faces along the way could make Scream 7 one of the best instalments for a long time.
Imagine if Stu Macher returned? Just think about it, there have already been hints that one of the film’s most iconic stars (played by Matthew Lillard) and the actor confirmed recently that he was asked to return for Scream 3 but it never materialised meaning that Stu is alive within the Scream universe.

Now after the recent pay dispute, Neve Campbell has spoken at a recent BAFTA Tea event where she told Variety she could see herself returning to the franchise ‘under the right circumstances’.
She was also recently quoted in a separate interview with IndieWire as feeling ‘sad that they’re struggling at the moment’ referring to the recent struggles with production.
Fond of the franchise and still with a love and passion for it as ever there is one name on the cast list for me to steer this film back onto the right tracks and rid the bad taste of Scream 6 out of my mouth for good.

The franchise is lost without its core component and the fact that she wasn’t paid what she was so rightly owed for Scream 6 is quite disgusting. Yes, the film was still successful at the box office (amassing a global total of $169 million) but the reviews were much more hit-and-miss with the story losing its way into absurdity throughout.
If anyone in the production team has glanced through this article. Pick up the phone, scroll down your contacts and dial that one name that can steer the Scream ship back on track.
Enter Neve Campbell.
