Nicolas Cage The Surfer Theatrical Release

The Surfer Nicolas Cage

A brand new poster and trailer has been unveiled for The Surfer starring Nicolas Cage as this psychological thriller looks to be getting the best out of Nicolas Cage and I have a sneaky feeling that the fans are going to love this one!

In the psychological thriller directed by Lorcan Finnegan, a man returns to the idyllic beach of his childhood to surf with his son. But his desire to hit the waves is thwarted by a group of locals whose mantra is “Don’t live here, don’t surf here.” Humiliated and angry, the man is drawn into a conflict that keeps rising in concert with the punishing heat of the summer and pushes him to his breaking point.

The trailer builds up tension after tension of a man who is slowly but surely being pushed to the brink and we as the audience are just sitting back and waiting for it all to explode astronomically.

Nick Cage The Surfer

Cage rage is rising and when it reaches boiling point, you better watch out as it’s all going to go off with a bang and no surfer is safe.

I love the retro art of the movie poster it’s giving me Once Upon a Time in Hollywood vibes and we all know how crazy that ending got so let’s just hope for more of the same in this one!

After doing some digging I saw that this film actually came out in 2024 so I’m not entirely sure why it’s back on the big screen but reviews were mixed across the board with some hailing it as Nick’s best performance for years and others a little torn on the subject.

I’ll reserve judgement and look forward to seeing it and will judge myself!
