#OneFamily Off The Tracks Documentary Review

In advance of its YouTube release I was asked to check out #OneFamily, an Off the Tracks documentary and share with you my thoughts.

#OneFamily Documentary

#OneFamily is a short documentary that follows the story of Daniel Lindsay and the other hosts of Off The Tracks, as they dive deep into the history and future of the UK’s number 1 theme park podcast.

#OneFamily is a short documentary discussing how the UK’s biggest theme park podcast came to be.

Starring Daniel Lindsay, Lee Thompson and Robert Spinks the documentary dives straight into how the podcast originated and how the core focus behind the podcast was to involve and bring together a community of roller coaster enthusiasts.

Focusing on creator Dan we learn of how the podcast came to be and how Lee and Robert joined the group and started what has been the go-to podcast to check out for young and old enthusiasts alike.

Daniel Lindsay Off the Tracks

With cut-in segments of each host talking about their experiences of not only working with Dan but being a part of a wider community all sharing a love of roller coasters mixed with on-park footage and more this #OneFamily documentary is a breezy experience indeed.

For me, it’s a good watch but with only 10 minutes of runtime, many details have naturally been left out.

We don’t get to the nitty-gritty details that a longer documentary of this kind could have explored nor do we go in-depth with anything other than how it was formed but what we do have is a nicely edited 10-minute piece with some lovely music, nice quality audio segments and the perfect length of documentary to keep a YouTube audience watch time retention happy.

I’d have loved to see a few more details and potentially include more listeners of Off the Tracks in the documentary to incorporate more of that ‘community spirit’ in addition to episode highlights/outtakes but #OneFamily does the job that it was meant to do.

One Family Doc

Recently Off The Tracks has taken a little break whilst typing this review but I’m hoping they go back to what they do best very soon.

Until then, this documentary will give you just a little taster of what’s to come without spoiling the entirety of what makes Off The Tracks so special.

If you love theme parks and roller coasters you’ll certainly enjoy this easy-breezy doc and it’ll be available online very, very soon!

Summary

Short and sweet this documentary does what it needs to do when catering to fans of the podcast but glosses over the surface of what could have been a more in-depth character / show profile. Worth a watch all the same as its breezy, well-edited and certainly highlights the passion and hard work these lads put into their number 1 theme park podcast.
