UPDATE – This attraction has now moved to Newcastle Under Lyme just down the road (About 10 mins)
Once upon a time, you’d have to go to Manchester or a big city to partake in axe throwing.
But now Rage Indoor Sports is bringing a whole range of activities all under one roof for you to enjoy!
Rage Indoor Sports is bringing a number of unique experiences to Stoke on Trent. Axe throwing and airsoft are just two of many more activities coming soon to the venue.
Situated next to Reflex Hanley (you can’t miss the sign) you ascend the stairs into adrenaline heaven. Custom-built lanes have been set up for you to throw axes at a target.
Whilst tricky to begin with you can soon pick it up and be doing trick shots in no time.
The axes are heavy-duty, there’s no messing around here and throwing it at a wooden target is great fun.
There’s a great sense of achievement the second that axe embeds itself into the wood for the first time (and any other time after that for that matter)

If that wasn’t enough a temporary shooting gallery lane has also been set up. This gun range is littered with cans and pop-up objects ready and waiting to be fired upon.
I was expecting plastic BB’s and cheap guns but not at Rage. These are high caliber airsoft rifles and pistols made from full metal that feel similar (in weight) to the real deal.
The BBs are also concrete covered so naturally, you don’t want to get hit with these! The assault rifles, in particular, have some serious weight to them!
Nothing quite says stress relief than absolutely unloading a clip of an assault rifle on a range of targets, even thou I missed 80% of them re-enacting Scarface scenes.
Rage is looking at having a professional automated pop-up target system installed shortly. This would make for much more competitive shootout sessions.
What Are You Waiting For?!

Owner Shiyam Shibaz has told me exactly what the venue has got in store for the future and the next addition to the establishment and you’re going to love it!
Everything on the premise is a stress reliever in every sense of the word.
Rage would be the perfect place to visit after a hard day at work or school just to take out some of that tension.
It’s something completely new to an area in need of more places to visit and the only way is up for this epic new Hanley attraction.
I had an absolute ball visiting Rage before it officially opens on February 1st. For more information on the venue and to make a booking then head on over to:
