Continuing on from our Animators Palate review aboard the ship we bring you our Day 2 dining experience with this Rapunzel’s Royal Table Disney Magic review.

Themed around the movie Tangled, Rapunzel’s Royal Table is a breathtaking dining space that transports you to the kingdom of Corona for an evening of festive celebration and fun.
Combining a dining experience with a live theatrical show the restaurant is themed like a ballroom in a royal castle with lanterns hanging from the ceiling.
The king and queen invite everyone to take part in Rapunzel’s birthday celebrations and throughout dinner, you’ll have singing and dancing on the main stage followed by a live parade of lanterns that beautifully light the ballroom.
As far as immersion goes you’re straight in there with beautiful chairs, regal dining tables and a show that really sets the mood.
What somewhat bothered me though was that the show would continue whilst you’re eating your dinner and having people being asked to stand up, clap and dance whilst I’m tucking into my food was a little strange, to say the least.
I just wanted to sit down and enjoy my food and whilst this live show was as good as it gets in terms of entertainment and great for kids I just wanted to enjoy my meal in peace.
This was the first sign of my entire 30 years on this earth that I realized, I was getting old.
So what’s on the menu you ask?

From pasta to steak to a nice Bavarian range and a cheeky request from another restaurant I dined like a king that evening!
This was the one restaurant though, however where I didn’t take photos of my food, instead, they’re featured in the full Disney Cruise VLOG towards the bottom of the page.
I also didn’t get a chance to take photos of anything I had this evening due to the sheer speed of how it was consumed. There wasn’t even a chance to get snapping away before it was eaten and ready for the next course!
Pretzel Bread With Whole-Grain Mustard Dip
Whilst pretzels (especially at Oktoberfest) are extremely salty to me I thought I’d try a Disney one JUST in case they were different.
They were not.
My mouth dried up like the Sahara desert and whilst the dip was lovely it’s safe to say that pretzels just aren’t for me!
What’s great about the Disney cruises though is that you can order as many starters/mains / desserts as you like so I instantly jumped into the following.
Crispy Arendelle Shrimp
This delicious shrimp came with Pea Puree, Fried Potato, Pancetta and pea shoot served with a Lemon-Tarragon Caper Mayonaise.
First things first, the mayonnaise was to die for!
The shrimp was absolutely huge and the flavour alone more than wiped my palette clean. Goodbye, salty pretzel turning my mouth into a sandy desert!
Escargot from Lumiere’s
As we had booked ourselves into Palo for one evening’s meal Lumiere’s was on the chopping block for our evening dining rotation.
One dish that stood out for me (being the weirdo I am) was Escargot.
I’ve never tried snails before and I was curious as to what they tasted like so I asked my server if it was possible to get the dish from another restaurant.
They happily obliged.
This was sure to be my downfall.
Whilst the Escargot tasted wonderful (surprisingly) it was soon going to set off a chain reaction in my stomach (mixed with seasickness) that would ruin the rest of my evening!
Captain of the Guard Prime Rib Of Beef
Served with a double baked potato, broccoli, sweet roasted carrots and a red-win veal sauce this was a lovely slab of meat.
Very soft to cut, very flavoursome and a wonderful main course.
I will say though, however, that compared to Animator’s Palate in terms of flavour, presentation and portion options that it came second best.
It was at this point that our night took a turn for the worse with a bad storm and my appetite was shot to pieces.
I quickly made my exit to my stateroom and went for an early night.
I couldn’t even touch my dessert so as far as reviewing it goes, I haven’t got a clue what it tasted like!
I’m sure it was lovely though!
Rapunzel’s Royal Table on the Disney Magic is a delightful experience!
But if you want to eat your food in peace then this isn’t the dining rotation experience for you.
The food was top notch but certainly not the experience or the flavour journey that Animators Palate was, that was a real treat for the tastebuds!
