News this month that was shared by Paramount discussed a Scary Movie remake in the works and before it has even been released we know with absolute certainty that it just won’t work, and here’s why.

The Horror parody franchise that started in 2000 paved the way for the spoof horror franchise with the Wayans brothers at the helm behind the scenes and on camera to deliver a hilarious film and subsequent movies until they left the franchise by the third movie.
That same third movie dropped in quality drastically as the original Wayans magic of the first two movies was long gone and the franchise has stretched out on a downward spiral ever since.
No Wayans, no Scary Movie and that’s a sentiment shared by the fans across the board.
Details are few and far between so it’s currently not known if series protagonists Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris) and Branda Meeks (Regina Hall) will feature but in that same regard what content do they have to work with?
In a sea of remakes, prequels, sequels and just trash films in general there aren’t many original movies that Scary Movie could even spoof at this stage.
It would just feel like a carbon copy of old films that have been remade or dragged on in a franchise that no one cares about anymore.
Constantly devoid of ideas in Hollywood we’re stuck with copy-and-paste remakes, revivals and all the rest as scriptwriters and original idea creators go on holiday and opt for the easy cash grab over genuine artistic talent and ingenuity.
The film industry is in a sorry state it really is, Hollywood has run out of ideas and is slowly spiralling into nothingness purely relying on genuine good classic movies to carry financial stability into the future.
Enough is enough as Nick Clement perfectly discussed in his article here.
So with zero Wayans on board (that we know of yet) coupled with the lack of original horror movies to spoof from (unless we just have 90 minutes of Talk to Me spoof) then it’s safe to say the Scary Movie revival no one wanted is going to suck.
I haven’t even mentioned the fact that Scary Movie was built upon a foundation of jokes that today would bring as much uproar as a Ricky Gervais show on the internet.
This woke, bullshit snowflake culture that is awash across the planet in our soft society would grind Scary Movie to a grinding halt.
Comedy is hard enough as it is when it comes to movies and jokes have to be handed much more delicately than they ever have been before.
It’s a sad world we live in and Scary Movie will further add more fuel to the fire that movies and the industry as a whole, is well and truly stale.
