Brand new Scream character posters along with a featurette have been revealed showing that once again, everyone is a suspect in this highly anticipated instalment.
Set to debut in January the fifth instalment of the series brings back major characters from the franchise along with some new faces.
We all know that at least one of the following cast members will be the new Ghostface and it may be someone we least expect.
I’m predicting a curveball with this particular franchise as I feel one of our familiar faces may just be the new Ghostface.
A character that may have fallen on hard times or just hasn’t fully recovered from events of days gone by in some freak twist storyline where the protagonist becomes the antagonist.
Check out the brand new featurette below where the cast discuss what makes a horror icon.
Within the featurette we see some new footage but only brief glimpses that just tease the upcoming film.
The marketing for this film so far has been superb and the trailer / bonus footage has given absolutely nothing away in terms of spoilers.
No eons long trailers ruining the entire film, just nice enticing footage that draws us in to want to find out more.
Synopsis:
Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.
Neve Campbell (“Sidney Prescott”), Courteney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) and David Arquette (“Dewey Riley”) return to their iconic roles in Scream alongside Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar.
The film is looking to take a fresh approach to the franchise whilst still keeping that nostalgic value running through its veins.
Living up to the Wes Craven films of old is a task that was kept in the hearts and minds of all cast and crew during the films production with many hesitant about being a part of the film in the first place.
With the films directors being such fans of Wes and the films themselves the next instalment looks to be in the right hands and I’m throughly excited about seeing the final product.
It’s going to be a scream!
