The Museum of Death in LA commemorates the end of life. From crime scene evidence photos and various creepy oddities all circulating the taboo of death.

The attraction is not set to scare anyone but more to educate the public about issues surrounding death, funerals and the afterlife.

The museum is certainly not for the faint of heart and speaking of fainting, many guests have actual done so during their tours.

For everyone who faints at the Museum of Death they get a commemorative T-Shirt, so it’s not all bad!

Take a look at some of the weirdest things inside the Museum of Death.

Heaven’s Gate Recreation 

 

Heaven’s Gate was a cult formed in the 1970s by a Texas music teacher. The cult believed that the world would come to an end and they had to take their own lives to ascend to a higher alien plane.

A total of 39 members committed suicide by drinking barbiturate-laced applesauce washed down with vodka.

This scene is recreated at the museum with one of the actual outfits from one of the victims and one of the actual beds from the mansion where all the bodies were found.

Jeffrey Dahmer Letters

Jeffrey Dahmer has a variety of letters at the Museum of Death.

Dahmer was known to have killed 17 men between 1979 and 1991 and kept a variety of body parts in his freezer and other areas of his apartment.

Manson Family Quilt

Manson Family Quilt

The notorious Manson Family led by cult leader Charles Manson. Known for a string of murders that Rocked Hollywood in 1969. The Manson Family led a hippie lifestyle and at the museum is a quilt made by members of the Manson Family.

Each square on the quilt is stitched with a swastika, one of Manson’s favourite symbols.

Medical Footage

In addition to the variety of gory photos on display, video footage is played throughout the museum showing real-life autopsies. I hope you’ve got a strong stomach!

Just like at the Haunted Museum you’re not allowed to film inside. But as always a few lucky media outlets got the opportunity to do so.
