The sun is shining in Stoke on Trent and what a perfect day it was for another Stoke CON Trent.
The local comic-con that brings together film, TV and comic book fans with their favourite guests from the shows they know and love.
Stoke Con Trent Review
It feels like many moons ago since I was last at Stoke Con Trent helping out my buddy Thomas Nicholas when he came to the local area.
What a day/night that was!
This time around I was helping out The Walking Dead’s very own Lew Temple and what a lovely guy he was.
All day he was speaking to guests for lengthy periods of time making sure that everyone was having fun.
Every picture we took with fans was a mix of funny snaps and Superhero poses and he really went above and beyond.

We were positioned right by the entrance giving us first pickings of the fans as they drove in numbers through the doors and either side of me were two more of the bigger guests at the convention.
Joseph Marcell who we all know as Geoffrey from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Thomas G. Waites who was in The Warriors and The Thing. Both of whom were great guys.
I had a good lengthy chat with Thomas about music and I was speaking to Joseph all about football.
There was a great atmosphere around the place and everyone was having a good time.

Outside the sun was shining which for Stoke on Trent is a once in a year occasion.
An occasion that we all must treasure.
Outdoor games were set-up and a few film cars were outside for people to take pictures with including the Trotters Independent Traders three wheeler.
Now with me volunteering for most of the day and with Lew’s table never short of guests I didn’t manage to get a good look around at many of the stalls but near where I was sitting there was an incredible cup-cake stand and a few cool art-prints and T-Shirt stalls that were selling some cool merch.

Tasty looking cars
Cosplayers were walking past left, right and centre!
We had two walkers who looked incredible who approached our table for signatures and it was hilarious trying to get this guy to pronounce his name for an autograph whilst behind a latex mask.
My favourite cosplay of the day was infact a dalek driven by a good friend of mine Chris Stone.
He told me all about this machine and I was anxious to see it. It ended up being one of the main highlights of the event.
What an incredibly detailed machine from a show that I’ve never even seen!
Don’t hate me Dr.Who fans..

The crowd did seem to dwindle towards the end of the day but that’s to be expected on such a beautiful day.
Maybe a guest could go outside on rotation for an hour and enjoy the sunshine.
Take some better lit pictures and do something a little different than the usual con in the future.
Overall
Stoke Con Trent put on a fine show.
I’m looking forward to the next one. It was good fun and a great day out for friends and family alike.
