Taylor Swift Miss Americana Review: Bare All, Open and Honest

Miss Americana Review

This documentary provides an inside look into the life and career of one of the biggest musicians of this generation – Taylor Swift. Miss Americana examines how ‘America’s Sweetheart,’ finally found her voice.

Famous for her outstanding taste and talent in music and her poor taste in men. Taylor Swift’s Miss Americana documentary gives us an insight like never before into the life of this superstar.

For those who have always wondered why her fans are so passionate about Taylor Swift, this documentary embodies exactly the reason why. This openly honest cards on the table tell all documentary is as down to earth and straightforward as you can get.

Almost appearing vulnerable in her interview segments she reveals all. From her humble beginnings to her life, relationships, career highs and lows and even a step forward into politics.

The documentary takes a cold stance towards the media. Blaming them for portraying her in a certain light and to a degree that’s true. It’s only now (slowly) that Taylor is being perceived as someone other than this nice, young girl who plays the victim. She’s becoming an independent career focused woman who’s striving for a future.

Claiming that female entertainers are cast aside after the age of 35 Taylor has a plan in place. She’s found her political voice and now she’s conquered the music industry another challenge awaits.

Overall

Miss Americana was a documentary that had me seeing Taylor in a different light. We judge. We all judge. If you think you don’t. You’re wrong. We all do. I had a preconceived notion about a girl i’ve never met (nor will probably ever meet) and that assessment has been thrown out of the window.

If you’re a fan of Taylor big or small you’re going to enjoy the documentary for what it is. This behind the scenes, tell all documentary is as open and honest as you’re going to get. Whilst quite a few things are missing (or avoided) we still get a closer look at the star like never before.
