We took a trip to the Cinebowl cinema at Uttoxeter for a movie screening and I was very impressed with this little midlands gem.
Uttoxeter Cinebowl is the ultimate entertainment centre with an ice rink, cinema and 8-lane tenpin bowling alley with glow lighting.
Showing all the latest movies the cinema has 3 screens and opened September 29th, 2006.
The capacities for each screen are 155, 156 and 215 making the screens very cosy and intimate indeed.
I found the seats to be incredibly comfy but the fun doesn’t stop there.
With every cinema ticket order, you can place an order at the Papa Johns pizzeria located within the Cinebowl and once ready your pizza will be delivered to your seat!
This would be a great idea if not for the fact that there are absolutely no side tables or pull-down tables to rest your food on.
Aiming to not drop that beautiful pepperoni pizza down your brand new date-night shirt or dress becomes a mammoth task. An event where your nerves and coordination will be tested throughout the screening.
Order at your own risk.
The cinema reception itself sells a variety of drinks but I didn’t see any classic cinema nachos or hot dogs on sale unless I’m going blind.
Upon visiting the venue was showcasing all the latest movies including Jungle Cruise, The Croods 2, Black Widow, Space Jam, Free Guy and Paw Patrol the Movie.
Tickets were priced at £7.95 per adult which I found personally a little steep for an independent venue but I imagine the ticket prices are sometimes out of the hands of the venue and lie solely with the film distributors/sellers.
Just a guess though.
Child tickets were priced at £6.50 along with Senior and Student prices.
If you go in a family of four you will be charged £6.25 each.
With the Cinebowl hosting an ice rink and a bowling alley they are various deals you can pick up throughout the year.
Group deals, package deals, you name it!
With Uttoxeter Cinebowl being an independent cinema it still participates in such deals as Meerkat Movies which allows you a buy one get one free cinema ticket every Tuesday or Wednesday.
With such intimate screens, I really enjoyed the experience that the cinema at Uttoxeter offered.
I found the projector and screen quality to be better than that of bigger chain cinemas such as Vue and Cineworld but this could be because of the smaller size of the room.
I tend to find the smaller cinemas always have better image quality as it’s not being stretched out to large auditorium sizes.
Whether it’s a snuggle up on a date night with a film or a bring the family to watch the latest blockbuster day you certainly won’t be disappointed in this little midlands gem.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the cinema at Uttoxeter and whilst I wasn’t brave enough to have a Papa Johns pizza delivered to my lap I certainly enjoyed watching The Suicide Squad in comfortable surroundings.
It’s just a shame the film wasn’t all that great!
