Below you will find each of the four fragrances I was sent and my opinion on each individual one compared to the high-street brands they’re inspired from.

200 Inspired by Creed Aventus

8ml – £4.95   30ml – £14.95  100ml – £24.95

The Essence Vault Aventus

This is the 100ml fragrance I had already from The Essence Vault.

Creed Aventus hits you with blackcurrant or pineapple (depending on the batch year).

The inspired by version smacks you in the face with pineapple. I personally cannot tell a huge difference between the two other than the discernible difference of synthetic vs 65% natural (Creed Claims) which explains the price gap.

The 200 is fruity, sweet and on the dry down you get a musty, oaky smell that lasts for a long time.

After three light sprays, I could still smell the 200 on me over two days later!

341 Inspired by Tom Ford Oud Wood

8ml – £4.95   30ml – £14.95  100ml – £24.95

Oud Wood The Essence Vault

A very popular fragrance and a gorgeously addictive one indeed.

Here we have Tom Ford Oud Wood and the inspired version 341. Both containing Oud (surprise, surprise) but as far as ingredients go I can’t compare these two.

I’ve never smelled the original fragrance but what I do know is that the inspired one is divine.

Absolutely lovely, as you can see from the video I nearly went all Meg Ryan on that one!

197 Inspired by Dior Sauvage

8ml – £5.95   30ml – £14.95  100ml – £24.95

Inspired by Sauvage The Essence Vault

Instantly recognisable from the advert starring Johnny Depp Dior Sauvage is one of the most iconic high-street fragrances.

It’s always classed as one of the best fragrances on the market alongside Bleu De Chanel. One whiff of the 197 instantly took me straight back to the time I smelled Sauvage for the first time.

Spicy, Fresh yet dark and thick. A winter fragrance that lingers for a long time and is highly complimented.

111 Inspired by Tom Ford Neroli Portofino

8ml – £5.95   30ml – £14.95  100ml – £24.95

Neroli Portofino The Essence Vault

Advertised by Tom Ford as a unisex fragrance I certainly think it leans more towards the feminine side of things.

It’s very fruity, very sweet and I can’t picture many guys pulling this one-off. The 111 inspired by fragrance is the perfect match.

A lovely hit of lemon straight out the bottle soon calming down to a lavender, jasmine and amber musk. A very nice fragrance indeed but certainly not for men in my opinion.

Inspired by Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille

8ml – £5.95   30ml – £14.95  100ml – £24.95

Tobacco Vanile The Essence Vault

A winter classic. Tobacco Vanille hits you with a deep thick tobacco scent and dries down into an absolutely incredible vanilla scent leaving you smelling like you’ve just polished off an ice cream!

Scent 290 from Essence Vault sadly didn’t have the opening thick tobacco note, it instead had a sweet introduction and eventually, the tobacco arrived.

Very small hints of vanilla but out of all the fragrances this was the one that didn’t smell like the original whatsoever to me. It got better on the dry down but it was still worlds apart.

This is the only fragrance on the list where I’d choose the authentic over the inspired by.

Pricing

Rose scent

As you can see from the price list below there is a huge gulf in pricing.

The prices below for the original fragrances do vary but the gulf in price regardless of discounted bottles or sale prices is huge.

Creed Aventus (100ml)  £265      200 (100ml) – £24.95

Dior Sauvage (100ml) £75.50  197 (100ml) – £24.95

Tom Ford Neroli Portofino (100ml) £240  111 (100ml) – £24.95

Tom Ford Oud Wood (100ml) £240   341 (100ml) – £24.95

Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille (100ml) £160  290 (100ml) – £24.95

Overall

Lavender

If you want to smell like a star without breaking the bank The Essence Vault is perfect for this.

They have created some extraordinary scents here, some you cannot even distinguish between the two!

My Creed Aventus inspired by always gets complimented with people saying “Are you wearing Creed?!” and “God, I love Creed.”

I’m always just there giggling to myself on the inside (if only they knew).

If I had one negative about The Essence Vault it would be the bottles. I feel as though the bottles do let the quality of the fragrance down.

They look very pound shop and very cheap. Maybe they should introduce a premium range of bottles per fragrance so you get the look to match the quality.

Thank you to The Essence Vault for sending me samples to review.
