Transformers Beast Wars 2021 Toys Release Throwback to 90’s Era

Transformers Beast Wars

Dive right on in with these Transformers Beast Wars re-release figures inspired by the classic 90’s toys!

(Re)start a vintage Beast Wars collection with this Transformers: Vintage Beast Wars Optimus Primal figure!

Kindly sent to us by Hasbro and inspired by the classic 90s toy, this new range of toys are designed like the original version – including figure styling, packaging and artwork from the 1996 Beast Wars releases, plus classic tech specs and accessories.

All of these figures in the range are purpose-built to be played with, they are absolutely solid figures and will last a very long amount of playing time.

The four figures that were sent were as follows:

*Optimus Primal

*Megatron

*Rattrap

*Cheetor

Now Cheetor and Rattrap are much smaller figures and as such are priced at £24.99 with Optimus Primal and Megatron both retailing for £38.99.

The difference between the two seems to be the size difference first and foremost along with the numerous accessories that come with the more expensive duo.

Optimus Primal

Optimus Primal

Optimus Primal has biogenetically re-engineered his body structure into a gargantuan robotic gorilla!

Cybernetically fused musculature has enhanced strength to super-powered levels. Shoulder-mounted, mega-blast missile cannons launch devastating attacks upon foolish Predacon invaders.

When they force him to fight, they force him to win!

Optimus Primal comes with 7 accessories and within 7 steps can convert from robot to gorilla mode and vice-versa in no time.

The figure stands at 24cm tall, 29cm wide and 10.8cm deep.

Early reviews of the product stated that the larger figures were very similar in quality and build to the original 1996 toys and they couldn’t be more right.

Over time build quality amongst toys as a whole has been on a rapid decline so it’s great to see that the designers and producers of the toys have kept this solid built to last quality within this re-release range.

Optimus Primal

It’s a study model, built to last and kids will get endless fun out of this wonderful Transformers figure.

Megatron

Megatron Beast Wars

Millions of years ago, Tyrannosaurus rex ruled the earth. Today, Megatron plans to do the same!

Duplicating dinosaur DNA stolen from human research labs, the evil leader has re-engineered his body structure and equipped it with fearsome high-tech firepower!

This Predacon Megatron figure comes with 2 missile accessories and converts from T. rex to robot mode in 11 steps.

Yet again this model is another well-built machine (get it?) that is solid in its construction and looks incredible.

Both Megatron and Optimus stand head and shoulders above the pack in this new Beast Wars re-release range.

As a result the price-tag reflects that increase in quality.

Cheetor and Rattrap

Cheetor

The figure features green eyes in the style of the 1997 toy release.

Like a bolt of greased lightning, Cheetor strikes fast and strikes hard.

Quiet and confident with incredible reflexes, he is equally efficient when battling in robot mode or in his artificially enhanced organic earth form.

Cheetor constantly stalks the jungle in search of Predacon enemies, daring them to challenge him and his laser-powered quasar cannon.

Rattrap

Scouring city streets for Predacon enemies, Rattrap maintains his strength by feeding on grunge and grime and any wretched refuse he may encounter along the way.

His fellow Maximals rely on his reconnaissance reports to locate enemy outposts.

Whilst the price drop from £38.99 down to £24.99 isn’t that steep the size (and quality somewhat) of these figures takes a hit as a result.

For me, whilst looking great the articulation was a little hit and miss for me on these two particular models.

They’re both very sturdy toys that should last you a very long time all the same.

I personally felt the £24.99 price tag was a little steep with £18.99 being the price tag that I would have personally sold them for.

Nonetheless, it’s a branded toy and a nice addition to the bigger toys in the set.

I would also say that Cheetor has two accessories whilst Rattrap only has one and they’re priced the same.

The Transformers Beast Wars toys are certainly worth picking up this Christmas. Any kid would love them to death!

They’re going to last a while, they look great and they’re a wonderful throwback to the toys of days gone by.

Put down those screens and embrace yourself in the world of Transformers!
