The first M Night Shymalan ‘Old’ Super Bowl trailer aired tonight and it’s just the first of two brand new thrillers from director M. Night Shyamalan.
M. Night Shyamalan has been on fire since Split back in 2016 and everything he touches seems to turn to gold ever since.
Old brings a dark and mysterious thriller (would you expect anything less?) about an island causing it’s inhabitants to age rapidly as they grow old and die in a matter of hours.
The official synopsis reads as follows:
This summer, Shyamalan unveils a chilling, mysterious new thriller about a family on a tropical holiday who discover that the secluded beach where they are relaxing for a few hours is somehow causing them to age rapidly … reducing their entire lives into a single day.
The cast includes Gael García Bernal, Vicky Krieps, Rufus Sewell, Ken Leung, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Abbey Lee, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Embeth Davidtz, Eliza Scanlen, Emun Elliott, Kathleen Chalfant and Thomasin McKenzie.
I also want to give a special mention to one particular cast member indeed in the shape of Nolan River Nicholas, son of American Pie / Rookie of the Year star and good friend of mine Thomas Ian Nicholas.
Aged 9 and already with credits in TV Series New Girl and Thom’s latest flick Adverse, Nolan will be starring in M. Night’s latest feature.
I think the concept of the film is incredible and I’m a big fan of M Night and how he weaves his suspense so beautifully throughout everything he writes and directs.
I can’t wait for this one!
