Why Godzilla Will Beat Kong In Upcoming Showdown Feature

With the hilariously awful trailer still fresh in my mind the question still remains regarding who will be victorious and in my eyes, this is exactly why Godzilla will beat Kong in the upcoming movie.

Godzilla Vs Kong Trailer Terrible

Let’s cast our mind back to the 1962 movie King Kong Vs Godzilla, Kong came out victorious in this clash but in the grand scheme of things, it was always hinted that Godzilla still survived this encounter.

Personally, if you look at the facts on paper this is Godzilla in the heavyweight corner vs a much less experienced opponent.

A David vs Goliath moment if albeit David now has a weird Kong beard.

There should be no doubt about the winner of the fight and whilst the 1962 movie chose in my eyes, an unworthy winner, I think Godzilla will finally reign supreme when the movie drops this year.

He’s The King For A Reason

Godzilla the king of monsters, not Godzilla who lets a primate beat him down into submission.

A superior species that has countlessly proved time and time again he’s unmatched and unrivalled across the monsterverse.

You only need to rewatch Godzilla: King of the Monsters to get the clarification you need.

Kong is out of his depth in terms of the challenge he faces and the environment in which he resides.

Recluse on an island with a few T Rex’s to fight now and again doesn’t exactly class as a worthy opponent in comparison to Godzilla.

We know Kong got his ass handed to him by a few dinosaurs so how will he fare against the ultimate monster?

Not very well I suspect.

There’s only one dominant force here and it’s not the oversized gorilla who has a soft spot for helpless blondes.

Godzilla’s Attributes Far Outweigh Kongs

Both powerful creatures in their own right but on the face of things Kong is stuck in place on the ground.

With limited range there’s only so much Kong can do in certain situations yet Godzilla has free roam of land and sea.

Oh, and air, don’t forget about air!

In the 1971 Godzilla vs.Hedorah our superior force uses his atomic breath to take flight.

Will we see a flying Godzilla once again?

If so, Kong is well and truly screwed as we all know a nice free fall off a tower doesn’t bode well for Kong.

Franchise Potential

With the monsterverse having plenty more options available to both creatures it makes sense to move forward with Godzilla over Kong in terms of franchise potential.

With characters such as Destoroyah and Biollante to name a few awaiting Godzilla as worthy opponents, it seems as though if Kong was to win this war his story would end there.

We all know Warner Bros love to milk a franchise, can you really see Kong winning and taking a backseat after the triumph?

Retiring to his island, sipping coconut cocktails and waiting for the others to get on with their business.

I don’t think so.

So, that’s why I think Godzilla will beat Kong.

Who would you like to see triumphant in the Godzilla Vs Kong debate?
