For the Love Of Horror Into The Dark scare attraction announced as popular horror convention attempts to save Halloween.

One of my highlights of 2019 was For the Love of Horror, this incredible horror convention at Bowlers Exhibition Centre had me meeting some of my horror idols and even the honour of sitting down with them and interviewing them.
It was the highlight of my October and when this year’s event was cancelled it really hit me quite hard.
Weeks passed and a message popped up on social media advertising a new event, a scare attraction run by the company based at the exhibition centre.
Whilst it’s a far cry from rubbing shoulders with some famous faces the last-minute announcement and showdates of October 31st and November 1st mean that the race is on to get this brand new event ready for the eager public.
I remember at last year’s event we walked through the free scare maze and our first runthrough wasn’t great, we walked back around and instantly like night and day the maze had increased tenfold and this was a free maze at the attraction!
We’ve been to many a scare attraction this month and the free maze at For the Love of Horror last year was stronger than some of our paid for attractions this 2020 scare season.
The fact that this is now a paid for event (including an over 18’s extreme add-on for an extra £10) fills me with insane excitement.
Between 9am-10pm in 30 minute slots Bowlers Exhibition Centre will feature an immersive experience based on iconic horror legends.
All mazes will be covid secure with live actors and plenty of photo ops.
The normal mazes are suitable for ages 14+ which makes sense to appeal to the masses but also means a more toned down experience for those die-hard horror junkies.
But wait.
An extreme maze for over 18’s has also been added and this extra upcharge attraction has me excited.
Psychomanteum at Scare Kingdom is the only extreme maze i’ve done this year and it was interesting to say the least.
Naturally with social distancing in place an extreme maze can’t be as extreme as it usually is so we were forced to watch, hold and take part in the insane rituals taking place within the chambers.
I hope for more of the same at For the Love of Horror Into the Dark!
Tickets are available at £20 per person (minus the extreme maze upcharge of £10) but they’re limited with the event only running for two days.
I’m a little hesitant that the last minute announcement and quick turnaround may reflect in the theming / overall appearance of the mazes but with a genuine scare company involved the actors should be top notch.
With the limited group numbers you’re going to be a truly personal and intimate experience.
Braving the array of 2020 mazes so far in a group of two has been much better than previous years.
No matter if you’re at the front or back you’re sure to jump as the actors surround you.
There’s no watching people in front of you jumping and you getting absolutely no scares, you’re surrounded, there’s no escape.
