The world’s favourite Disney song has been revealed after this deep dive into a Disney songs playlist to determine just what is the world’s favourite.
A study conducted by file converter Covertr.org has gathered all the Disney songs from the original motion pictures with at least 50 million streams and then crowned the most streamed Disney song on Spotify.
It’s no surprise that a certain no.1 is up there with the greatest number of streams but we’ll get to that shortly.
Second and third on the list are two of the most popular songs from 2016 Moana, How Far I’ll Go, sung by Moana herself (Auliʻi Cravalho), and You’re Welcome, sung by Maui (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson). The songs have had respectively 395,087,825 and 354,585,302 streams.
Into the Unknown from Frozen 2, which has had 263,907,202 streams so far slides in 4th place.
The top five closes with I’ll Make a Man Out of You from Mulan with 223,319,736 streams, sung by Donny Osmond and among the most popular songs of the movie.
The newest addition to the Disney family, Encanto, has recently wowed everybody, with its songs crushing multiple records in the shortest amount of time. We Don’t Talk About Bruno, the most popular track sung by an ensemble cast has reached almost 100 million streams in only three months, which places it 29th in the overall list but also averages 33 million streams per month.
So who was number one?
Well, it was none other than Let It Go from Disney’s Frozen.
Let It Go, sung by Idina Menzel in the first instalment of the Frozen franchise, is the most-streamed with 517,522,613 streams, which converts to more than 1.4 billion pounds in profit which Disney has earned only by streaming from this one song.
The top song, Let It Go, regardless of its whopping number of streams overall, has been around for eight years now and averages almost 6 million streams a month.
A spokesperson from Convertr.org has commented on the findings:
“Both Frozen movies have been of huge impact on the newest generation of Disney fans, with kids and adults all over the world re-watching both instalments over again and of course streaming its songs.
It is interesting to see how four of these songs are included in the top 10, the only movies with such a presence in the list.
Let It Go is undoubtedly one of the most beloved Disney songs, which translates into the streaming and earning data gathered for the study.
It is also interesting to see how Encanto’s trending soundtrack may soon find its place in this top ten, as it’s distributed to wider audiences across the next few months. Having reached almost 100 million streams in just three months, Disney’s 60th animated feature film may be here to shake up the title race for Disney songs.”
