Kate Winslet

Kate Winslett Waxwork

Hiding out towards the back of the room but looking as glamorous as ever is the wonderful Kate Winslet, a star who rose to fame after her critically acclaimed performance in the 1997 Blockbuster Titanic alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.

Aged 31 Kate became the youngest actress to have received five Academy Award nominations and years later won an Oscar for her performance in The Reader.

Kate once admitted she keeps that very same Oscar in her bathroom so any house guests can hold it themselves and make acceptance speeches in the mirror without feeling self-conscious.

It’s Hollywood. That’s not weird at all. Just a normal day for those folks!

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt Madame Tussauds

Nominated for over 140 awards Brad Pitt is no stranger to A-List parties and events.

Brad owns the production company Plan B Entertainment that produced the movie 12 Years a Slave which came out in 2013. His incredible performance in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time in Hollywood earned him a Best Supporting Actor where he starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.

Did you know that Brad Pitt had his front teeth smoothed down for the movie Fight Club? They have since been completely restored.

Brad now resides in Madame Tussauds but there’s a little distance between him and Angelina Jolie (Brad’s ex wife) within this particular exhibition.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie Madame Tussauds

Angelina Jolie started in the business at the age of 5 as she acted at the side of her father Jon Voight in the comedy Looking to Get Out (1982).

Angelina is known for her humanitarian work in addition to her acting roles but it the was the role in the 2001 movie Lara Croft: Tomb Raider that really put her on the map.

In addition to on-screen roles Angelina Jolie is no stranger to voice acting roles with roles in animated movies such as Shark Tale and Kung Fu Panda.

She has been the UN’s special envoy since 2001 and is particularly committed to refugees.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman Madame Tussuads

Australian actress Nicole Kidman won the Oscar for Best Actress in the movie The Hours back in 2003.

Also a singer collaborating with Robbie Williams on the song ‘Somethin Stupid’ which became a Christmas hit back in 2001.

In 2004 she was named “Citizen of the World” by the UN for her work as an ambassador for UNICEF.

Ru Paul

Ru Paul Madame Tussuads

Arguably the biggest set in the new area is the Ru Paul cat walk. It’s absolutely massive and even a figure as tall as Ru Paul looks lost in the corner of this huge set piece.

Star of the eponymous RuPaul’s Drag Race and cultural icon, this is the first time RuPaul has been immortalised in wax in the UK. Ru Paul is the tallest human figure at Madame Tussaud’s Blackpool standing at 7ft 1 inches.

Posed on the runway, Mama Ru exudes style and class in a beautiful sequined gown and gravity-defying wig.

Alongside iconic queens of the Blackpool drag scene, you can strike a pose next to the queen herself or sashay down the runway to some of your favourite RuPaul tracks. Shantay you stay!

Ru started his career when he moved to New York in 1987 performing and dancing in clubs in 1993, he release his debut album, “Supermodel of the world”, which featured the titular track “Supermodel (You better work)” which became a hit and he went onto feature in films and music videos galore.

Ru became the first drag queen to become a spokesperson for M.A.C cosmetics and he hosted a drag show which launched in the UK in 2019 that won two Emmy awards.

Lewis Capaldi

Lewis Capaldi Madame Tussuads Blackpool

Arguably the most humble man on the planet Lewis Capaldi can do no wrong and already the attraction has stated he’s the most popular figure in the new area.

The team are constantly reworking his wax figure because of how often he’s posted with, touched and all the rest of it. Poor Lewis!

Glasgow born Lewis Capaldi’s hit single Someone You Loved was the longest running Top 10 single of all time by a British artist back in 2019. Lewis is also related to Doctor Who actor Peter Capaldi who is Lewis’ second cousin once removed.

Lewis recently revealed that he has been diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome and is coming to terms with how to deal with the condition in addition to his anxiety. Lewis this week announced that after a performance in Glastonbury that he would take some time away from music to focus on his his mental health.

His recent documentary was eye-opening for a lot of people but we also got to see a humble and quite wonderful person front and centre and if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend that you do so.

VIP Area Madame Tussuads

There’s lots to see and do at Madame Tussauds Blackpool and this new space is just another great addition but I feel as though there’s a few more figures that could easily go in this space and they all seem a little lost in this quite vast area. A few more interactive elements to the space would be nice but as far as awards party guests go, they’ve certainly chosen a strong line-up for this Madame Tussauds Blackpool Awards party
