An Animal Kingdom Indiana Jones Ride is Coming!

Tropical Americans Indiana Jones

Disney World is getting a brand new Indiana Jones ride as the Dinosaur attraction at Animal Kingdom will be gutted and transformed into this thrill-seeking adventure!

Indiana Jones Ride Animal Kingdom

When I visited Animal Kingdom a few weeks ago I thought the Dinosaur ride was in a terrible state, the ride vehicles were jerky, none of the dinosaurs were lit up properly and it was arguably one of the worst rides I did throughout my entire trip so hearing it was being refurbished was news to my ears.

Not only that but refurbished to an Indiana Jones IP, amen!

For some reason unbeknownst to me the Dinosaur ride is a fan favourite which is a puzzling one as the Disney faithful are more of an immersive dark ride audience with rides that you wouldn’t class as ‘thrill’ rides usually been cast aside.

Dinosaur was adamant on giving me whiplash at every opportunity and it was ridiculously uncomfortable and unenjoyable.

This news was certainly was a softer blow for fans than the backlash Disney has received from removing Tom Sawyers Island and the rivers of America to make way for two Cars attractions.

The Animal Kingdom Indiana Jones ride was announced at Disney’s D23 convention in Anaheim along with a plethora of other announcements which included the area surrounding the Dinosaur ride (DinoLand USA) set to be entirely replaced and reskinned to a Tropica Americas section.

Construction of this new 11-acre section of the park will begin this fall as fans were urged to ride Dinosaur one last time.

Indiana Jones is no stranger to a Disney park as there is already an Indiana Jones dark ride with the same ride system located in California which opened in 1995 but this version at Walt Disney World will feature a new story and unique features entirely.

Disney as a whole across their parks not only in America but across the globe are benefitting from a $60 billion investment over the next decade. There are many exciting things in the pipeline but I had to cover this one, it’s an Indiana Jones ride!!
