I haven’t been this excited about a TV series announcement in a long time as Ted Lasso Season 4 has today been announced to be released this Summer along with four brand new images for us to lap up!
The sports comedy is back as Ted Lasso now looks to be in charge of coaching a second-division women’s football team after leaving Richmond in a tear-jerking Season 3 finale.
Summer 2026 has been announced as the time period in which the series will drop but no specific dates have yet been announced.
Production for the show began back in July 2025 as Jeremy Swift, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, and Jason Sudeikis are all set up to return but the full cast line-up has yet to be revealed although it’s thought that Brendan Hunt and Brett Goldstein will reprise their roles as Coach Beard and Roy Kent.
The timing of the series lines up perfectly with this years World Cup hosted in America and the new photos revealed today from Apple certainly whet the appetite for what’s to come especially the rather lovely image of Ted giving some biscuits to Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) in a little throwback to his daily routine when he was manager of the Mens team at Richmond.
This scene looks particularly poignant as the relationship between Ted and Rebecca really has blossomed over the seasons and it would be incredible to see where that leads as the show progresses.
All these questions and more will be answered this Summer, I’m so glad they decided to extend the series as it did deserve a better ending than what was given in Season 3, here’s hoping it does really well and a Season 5 is lurking around the corner!
