I love the Wayans family, every single damn one of them and after Marlon was one of the first ever people we interviewed on this blog I’ve been following every single stand-up, movie and release you can think of. That man took a chance on a brand new movie page and gave us his time to chat, in return I’ll support every single thing he drops and give my honest opinion along the way, with this one, I LOVE IT!
Twenty-six years after outrunning a suspiciously familiar masked killer (“Ghostface”), the Core Four are back in the killer’s crosshairs and no horror movie IP is safe.

Marlon Wayans (“Shorty”), Shawn Wayans (“Ray”), Anna Faris (“Cindy”), and Regina Hall (“Brenda”) reunite in Scary Movie alongside returning favorites and fresh faces to slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t final. Nothing is sacred. No trope survives. Every line gets crossed. The Wayans are back to cancel the Cancel Culture.
The trailer is two minutes long but I can name close to 15 films (if not more) that the trailer is parodying or including instantly! From M3GAN and Scream to The Substance and Terrifier this is going to be one of the hit films of 2026.

Comedy is a dying breed on the big screen and the Wayans have had enough, going back to the roots of the franchise where no jokes were off limits this trailer delivers in every department and if anyone’s offended, who cares. That’s the whole point!
This woke generation have been delicately wrapped in cotton wool and as a result comedy films (especially box office releases) have all but disappeared off the cinema but recently there seems to be glimmers of light peeking through that may (just may) give us hope of slapstick comedies and beyond making a big triumphant return.

Within the first 30 seconds of the trailer there’s a pronouns joke, is it outdated? No. Because still to this day people are slapping their pronouns on everything wearing them as a badge of soapboxing honour and so ludicrous have we become as a society that it needs to be joked about.
Matt Rife, Ricky Gervais and Dave Chapelle deliver this time and time again in their comedy stand-ups, it’s inclusive to make fun of it, is it not?
Director Michael Tiddes was behind the hilarious Haunted House 1 and 2 movies starring Marlon Wayans and he’s in the hot seat here with this one, I can’t wait to see what he comes up with. Michael was also someone who took a chance on our little movie site many moons ago with the release of the first Haunted House film and I’m more than happy to support them all in this endeavour.

It’s also great to see The Terrifier included in the trailer with a cameo from the one and only Michael Leavy (producer of The Terrifier) in that very parody scene as one of the parents lining up to meet Santa.
I genuinely can’t wait for Scary Movie to drop. There’s no feeling quite like going to your local cinema and just laughing along with complete strangers over a new movie.
Comedy is well and truly back and if Scary Movie does well it has already been confirmed that a White Chicks 2 and a Don’t Be A Menace sequel wouldn’t be far behind.
Let’s make it happen!
