Balls Up Review: It’s Fun, Get Over It!

Balls Up Film

I feel as though searching through all of the reviews online for Balls Up that critics really have lost their sense of humour as goofball comedies are few and far between we get Balls Up on Amazon Prime and it was fun, so critics,  get over it!

In a world of woke BS that plagues every cinematic and TV release Balls Up straight up laughs in the face of that and delivers something that hasn’t been released since the days of Harold and Kumar, Road Trip, Euro Trip and Half Baked just to name a few.

Just goofball comedy where you grab some of your buddies, a few beers, disengage your brain and enjoy it for what it is and at times the film is laugh-out-loud funny but for the most part it’s just some lighthearted entertainment.

Sacha Baron Cohen’s cameo in the film as a drug lord is absolutely hilarious. Balls Up isn’t aiming for awards or deep cultural meaning, it’s a good time and a film you’ll see once and never again but it certainly won’t be the worst film you see in 2026, the cinema slate for this year is doing a good enough job of stinking the place out already.

Crude humour aplenty and it’s chaotic and fun. There’s still a home for comedy like this just not for stuck up critics who will pan an Amazon release like this yet when a more mainstream comedy drops, they’ll hop on the bandwagon and praise it like it’s the next best thing.

It doesn’t take itself too seriously and it asks the audience to not do that either. Whilst chemistry between the leads isn’t there in certain scenes there’s enough energy and humour to carry the film.

It’s daft and in a world that’s so bogged down with depressing news currently comedies are very much needed and honestly, that’s something we could use a lot more of.
