Complaints Made Over IT Chapter 2 Display in Sainsbury’s

IT Chapter 2 Display

Welcome to snowflake Saturday everyone! A mother in Berkshire has complained to Sainsbury’s about the above display. Can you see why she complained? Nope, me either.

IT Chapter 2 Display

IT Chapter Two trailer

IT Chapter 2 is out now and revolves around Pennywise, an alien creature that preys on children and kidnaps them. The mother was ‘horrified’ to see the dummy child wearing the clothes of Georgie a character prominent in the first movie.

A scene in the first movie shows Georgie having his arm ripped off by a hungry Pennywise but this dummy has both arms.

Clearly a well and alive Georgie. Before Pennywise got him that is.

The items of clothing worn by our dummy Georgie are also available to purchase in-store.

The mum says she spoke to the store manager who had never seen the film.

When I explained that the plot (that children get kidnapped by an evil clown) he said ‘oh I see what you mean, I haven’t seen it.

Luckily I wasn’t with my child – they would have been petrified and refused to go into the store if she had seen it.

It’s not an appropriate display for a store where families shop.

And why would they dress up the model in clothes you can buy in store? Who would see that and think ‘that jacket is great for my child’?”

I’m trying not to laugh too hard at her comments. Do you see blood on the IT Chapter 2 movie display? Do you see any gore of any kind? You see an innocent dummy dressed like Georgie with no half-bitten arm and you complain?

The best bit, her child wasn’t even with her at the time! She’s getting offended over a display that her child isn’t even there to see!

We need another IT movie where Pennywise prays on snowflakes. This lady will be the first to go. Time to float lady.

Update 20/01/2020 – A spokesperson for Sainsbury’s confirmed that the store has now removed the display.

They also apologised for any offence caused.
