Sylvester Stallone Says Goodbye to Expendables Franchise

Expendables 4

Sylvester Stallone Expendables days are over as the actor says goodbye to the franchise for good.

The Expendables 4 starting shooting a few months ago and Sylvester took to Instagram to announce that filming has already wrapped on the movie and his character Barney Ross will be moving on from the franchise.

“It’s time to be moving on,” says Stallone. “This will be my last day, so I’m enjoying it but it’s always bittersweet, you know… When something you’ve been so attached to, I guess it’s been about 12 years, and I’m ready to pass the baton on to [Jason Statham] and his capable hands.”

Co-Creator of the series Sylvester Stallone has led The Expendables in all of the last 3 movies.

Originally pulling out of a fourth movie due to creative differences back in 2017, things came full circle when he returned to the series for the fourth instalment.

The fourth Expendables movie will be directed by  Scott Waugh (Need for Speed) and sees Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture reprising their roles from the first three movies.

New additions include Megan Fox, 50 Cent, Tony Jaa, Andy Garcia and even Stoke on Trent’s very own Eddie Hall.

Take a look at the message posted by Sly on his Instagram account just a few weeks ago announcing his departure from the franchise.

With the baton now passed onto Jason Statham it naturally means more of these movies are in the works and I’m not sure how I feel about that.

We already had Fast and Furious milking a dead cow film after film and this particular franchise reached its peak a long time ago in my opinion.

What do you think?
